The Day wants to be part of the solution and has undertaken a year-long community funded investigation into the housing crisis.     Daybreak: Author Erik Larson, whose books have included “The Devil in the White City” and “The Splendid and the Vile,” talks about his work ahead of an appearance in Mystic.

    Perspective: An environment that is healthy for wildlife is healthier for humans. The Great American Outdoors Act of 2020 is a five-year, $1.9 billion-per-year plan for critical maintenance to national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, recreation areas and American Indian schools. The 1,000-acre Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, partly located in Westbrook, and the Pachaug-Ledyard Focus Area of the Great Thicket National Wildlife Refuge, could benefit.
