    High wiring work

A Hughes 500 helicopter with One Span hovers overhead as a line worker, not pictured, installs optical ground wire along the top of transmission towers along an Eversource right of way in Bozrah Saturday, Sept., 10, 2022. According to Eversource spokesmen Mitchell Gross, the wire enhances communication between company facilities and protects the high-voltage transmission system from severe weather conditions, such as lightning strikes. A total of 47 miles of OPGW is being installed on the structures between Eversource substations in Manchester and Waterford. The flights got underway during the second week of August and will occur intermittently through early December. (Sean D. Elliot/The Day)
