Stonington seeking veterans to be interviewed for new memorial

Stonington ― The town is seeking veterans who currently reside in town or who have lived here in the past to share their stories in on camera interviews as part of the Stonington Veteran Monument Project.

The interviews will explore topics such as the concept of service, transition to civilian life, local insights and pivotal moments in history.

The interviews will be featured on a future website associated with the monument, which is slated to open next year in front of the police station.

The First Selectman’s Office is working with SEC-TV in Groton, which will be providing studio, editing and staffing time for the project.

Interviews will be held at SEC-TV studios in Groton, in early December with the potential for additional future dates. Space is limited and interested veterans are asked to contact Stacey Haskell at 860-535-5050 or shaskell@stonington-ct.gov to reserve their space.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
