New London ― The city has a number of vacancies on its voluntary boards and commissions and is encouraging residents to fill them.

The Ethics Board has three vacancies, Foreign Trade Zone has one, the Pedestrian Advisory Committee has three, the Senior Affairs Commission has two and the Veterans Advisory Committee has one.

Application forms are accessible online on the city’s website under the heading of Office of the Mayor and can be turned into the city clerk.

Other boards and commissions are looking for alternates. An alternate attends the regular and special meetings of the board or commission in the absence of a regular member. The Historic District Commission has three empty alternate positions, the Planning and Zoning Commission has one and Parks and Recreation has one.
