Groton residents can participate in survey about parks and recreation plan

Groton ― The town has hired BerryDunn, a consulting firm with offices in Hartford and New Haven, to conduct a parks and recreation master plan, and residents may receive a post card in the mail inviting them to participate in a survey.

The post card will have directions on how residents can participate in the survey and share their thoughts, according to a news release from the town. Residents who don’t receive a post card, will have an opportunity to participate in the survey through the open link version. Details will be posted on the town’s website, www.groton-ct.gov, and on the Groton Parks & Recreation’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/grotonparksandrec, within the next two weeks.

This master plan will build on the previous plan, and BerryDunn is focused on helping the department with its vision of Groton as a “community where everyone feels welcome and included, and has opportunity to live, work and play in a healthy environment,” according to the news release.

“Once completed, the plan will serve as a blueprint for planning and maintaining Groton’s system of parks, recreation, open space, trails, and facilities,” the release states.
