Reona Dyess named president of New London City Council
New London ― The City Council Monday night elected and swore in Reona Dyess as its new president for 2023.
Efraín Dominguez, whose one-year term as president was expiring, nominated Dyess, who is in her second term on the council.
She is the executive director at the Drop-In Learning Center, a non-profit providing after school programming.
Dyess said during her many years working at the Drop-In Center, she has told “her kids” that, “If you want to see change, you need to be a part of the change and be at the table where they make the decisions.”
Dyess presented Dominguez with an honorary plaque commemorating his service as president since 2019.
