    Make a Difference: WARM Center

    WHO: Christine, a 40-year-old single mom of kids ages 8, 11, 12, 14, 18 and 22

    AGENCY: WARM Center

THEIR SITUATION: Christine has overcome many personal and domestic issues but has found herself homeless in these difficult economic times. As the holidays approach, her family lives in a van. Christine said, “I always mentioned to my kids to hold on because God has something in store for us. But mentally it's really killing me inside due to not having a home to go to.” Her 8-year-old asks if they will have a Christmas tree, “and it hurts me so bad because I can't answer her question. The struggles are real.”

WHAT TO GIVE: All of the children are girls except for the 11-year-old. Gift ideas include bath gel, lotion, body spray, size 7 slippers and pajamas sized XL and M for the 18-year-old and 14-year-old; bracelets, earrings, medium pajamas and size 6 slippers for the 12-year-old; arts and crafts, size 6/7 pajamas and size 1 slippers for the 8-year-old; a used violin or remote control car for the 11-year-old; and large pajamas, size 7 slippers and perfume for Christine.

TO DONATE: Drop off items at the WARM Center (56 Spruce St., Westerly) and ask for Russ or Jill
