Friends & Neighbors: Griswold faculty member earns Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator certification

    Jessica Gillespie.

Jessica Gillespie, an instructor in the Griswold Public Schools system, has earned a Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator certification.

Gillespie is a Teaching, Learning, and Innovation Coordinator within the school district, and works collaboratively with administrators and teachers toward the schools’ mission, vision, and goals.

Distinguished Modern Classroom Educators meet their students’ needs through blended, self-paced, mastery-based instruction. Gillespie’s participation in the DMCE certification program will lead the way for other teachers in the district to do the same.

Before becoming a member of Griswold Public Schools’ new Teaching, Learning and Innovation team, Gillespie was an English teacher at Griswold High School.

“Jessica Gillespie is a talented educational leader and a valuable member of our Griswold team. I always learn so much from her. Jessica is committed to our students, to our educators, and to making learning come alive with new approaches that make sense,” Sean McKenna, superintendent of Griswold Public Schools, said in a release.
