Fundraiser Saturday to benefit two Preston boys

Preston ― A St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser will be held Saturday in Jewett City for two Preston boys facing different medical challenges.

The fundraiser will benefit Tate Campbell, son of Megan (Feraco) and Kyle Campbell, a 4-year-old boy from Preston who was involved in an ATV accident, and Jack Urban, son of Molly (Mattern) and Joe Urban, a 1-year-old boy born with a genetic metabolic disorder called NKH.

The fundraiser will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Jacques Cartier Club, 79 Wilson St., Jewett City. The event will include a DJ, buffet dinner, games, baskets and silent auction. Tickets are $55 for attendees 18 and older. To purchase tickets or make donations, call Jesse Nemeth at (860) 859-7791.

For Tate, the fundraiser will help the family pay medical bills, rehabilitation, caregiving, travel and lodging, living expenses, medical equipment and necessary adaptations.

Jack’s condition causes his body to produce too much glycine, causing seizures and developmental issues. The fundraiser will help raise money for research into this rare disease.
