Westerly ― Families attended Penguin-Palooza Saturday at The UNITED Theatre in Westerly.

The Penguin-Palooza was held in partnership with The UNITED Theatre and Mystic Aquarium to raise awareness and funds for African penguins, an endangered species.

The event had two African penguins from Mystic Aquarium for viewing, one painted a picture with paint on its feet. Also available were penguin crafts and a screening of the movie “Surf’s Up”.

Proceeds from the event will go to the conservation efforts by Mystic Aquarium and the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds.
