    Norwich police searching for shooter who inflicted ‘life-threatening injury’

    Norwich ― A man suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound on Wednesday afternoon outside Norwich Apartments at the intersection of Sandy Lane and Boswell Avenue.

    Police described the shooting as a targeted attack and said a suspect is wanted for questioning. Police did not release the name of the suspect or the victim, who was shot in the upper body and taken to The William W. Backus Hospital for treatment.

    Police said the shooting at 24 Sandy Lane occurred at 1:40 p.m. Witnesses reported hearing one gunshot. The circumstances of the shooting are part of the investigation.

    Police remain at the scene Wednesday afternoon and cordoned off a portion of the parking lot.

    No update was available from police about the incident Wednesday night.
