Four students receive Italian Heritage scholarships

Norwich — The Italian Heritage and Cultural Committee of Norwich awarded four $1,000 scholarships recently to graduating high school seniors of Italian descent to recognize their academic achievements and community service outside the classroom.
The awards were presented to Sophia Hamel and Gabriella Krzywicki of Norwich Free Academy; Andrew Jack Giurieo of Montville High School and Luca Muscarella of St. Bernard High School.
Over the years, the Italian Heritage & Cultural Committee has awarded more than $88,000 in scholarship awards to students.
