Wireless Zone locations in Groton and New London will give away backpacks with school supplies on Sunday.

The backpack giveaways will begin at 1 p.m. Each store will have at least 400 backpacks available.

“Each child present can receive a backpack loaded with school necessities like pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, a ruler, and glue,” according to a news release. “The backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at each participating store. Any remaining backpacks after the School Rocks Backpack Giveaway events will be thoughtfully donated to local schools as selected by each store.”

Backpack giveaways will be held at more than 1,000 TCC and Wireless across the country, the news release said.

The School Rocks Backpack Giveaway initiative, which began in 2013, has distributed more than 1.3 million backpacks to students nationwide before the start of each school year, according to the release. Participating locations can be found at: https://shop.wirelesszone.com.
