East Lyme ― On the last day of summer Friday, Rob Cummins of Swanzey, N.H., decided to cool off at Gorton Pond.

Autumn arrived early Saturday morning, coinciding with a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut, as Tropical Storm Ophelia makes its way up the mid-Atlantic and Northeast coast.

The National Weather Service outlook is in anticipation of rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds on Saturday that could carry the chance of coastal flooding.
