NL Housing Authority to name interim executive director
New London ― The New London Housing Authority’s Board of Directors will name an interim executive director next Tuesday while a search for a permanent leader moves ahead, Mayor Michael Passero announced on Wednesday.
Passero said he expects the board will act on his proposal to appoint former Chairwoman Betsy Gibson to temporarily succeed outgoing Executive Director Kolisha Kendron. Kendron announced earlier this month she would leave her position on Dec. 1.
During her tenure on the board, Gibson, a former state representative, oversaw the relocation of 117 families from the now-demolished Thames River Apartments on Crystal Avenue.
