    New London ― People gathered at Parade Plaza in the downtown Friday night for the lighting of the New London Christmas tree.

    Performing during the event was the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus, choirs from city schools and the Shoreline Ringers Bell Choir.

    Kiana Foster-Mauro, Connecticut’s 2024 Teacher of the Year, illuminated tree.
