Make A Difference: St. Vincent de Paul Place

WHO: Nora, a Norwich mother of seven

AGENCY: St. Vincent de Paul Place

HER SITUATION: Nora and her fiance, Adam, have seven children. During the winter, it is especially difficult for them to pay rent, electricity and oil bills, let alone buy Christmas gifts.

WHAT TO GIVE: Unwrapped gifts for 10-, 9-, and 8-year old girls who like craft supplies, books, dolls and makeup sets. The oldest likes Jasmine from Disney’s “Aladdin,” the 9-year-old likes Disney’s “Frozen,” and the 8-year-old is captivated by “Beauty and the Beast.” Nora’s 5- and 2-year-old boys like Marvel’s superheroes, especially Spiderman. They also like cars, trucks and trains, and Mickey Mouse. Nora and Adam’s 4-year-old daughter likes Anna from Disney’s “Frozen,” Minnie Mouse, anything musical, and can spend hours coloring. Their 5-month-old daughter could use some size 6-months clothes. All of the children need socks, underwear and PJs.

TO DONATE: Contact Morgan Martens, outreach case worker, St. Vincent de Paul Place, 120 Cliff St., Norwich, CT 06360, at outreach.svdpp@gmail.com or (860) 934-3526.
