Mohegan names new chief financial officer

Mohegan ― Mohegan Sun’s parent company, Mohegan, announced Monday it has hired Ari Glazer of Citigroup Inc. as chief financial officer.

Glazer, who has been advising gaming and hospitality companies for more than 20 years, will assume his new position May 1, succeeding Carol Anderson, who announced months ago she would not renew her employment contract when it expires at the end of this month.

Glazer, most recently Citigroup’s managing director and global head of gaming and hospitality client coverage, joined the New York-based multinational corporation in 2004.

In his new job, Glazer will be responsible for all Mohegan finance activities, including financial planning and analysis, capital markets, accounting, tax, treasury, procurement and cash management. He will report to Ray Pineault, Mohegan’s president and chief executive officer.

“Ari embodies the visionary leadership and deep financial insight that Mohegan is looking for at this stage of our growth,” Pineault said in a statement. “His skills will be key to our strategy of diversifying Mohegan’s portfolio and strengthening our fiscal foundation.”

Glazer has advised leading companies in the gaming and hospitality industry on strategic and capital markets transactions, “successfully guiding clients through complex situations with innovative solutions that delivered substantial business growth and value creation,” Mohegan said in announcing his hiring. “He brings deep experience across both U.S. and international financial markets to support Mohegan as a leading global diversified gaming operator.”

Glazer has a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Columbia Business School at Columbia University.

Mohegan owns and/or manages gaming and entertainment resorts in the United States, Canada and Northern Asia, and owns Mohegan Digital, an online gaming division, and the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA.
