Reminder: Tax deadline extended for New London County residents
The Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for taxpayers in areas of the state that were impacted by storms, flooding and a potential dam breach in January.
The IRS made the announcement in a news release this winter that taxpayers have until June 17 “to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.”
The IRS said it is offering relief to New London County, including the Mohegan Tribal Nation and Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, and other areas designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
