Waterford ― Oswegatchie Elementary School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday for its new raised bed gardens. Each grade has two beds.

During the ceremony singer Steve Elci performed while the fifth graders planted a Cloud 9 Flowering Dogwood tree in the middle of the new beds. Later pre-kindergarten students planted sunflower seeds.

The Dominion Foundation Board gave a grant for the ADA-compliant garden beds and mats for wheelchair accessibility.

Dominion Energy and Rent-A-Space Self Storage were sponsors of the event.
