Black Wolves name Manney team captain

The New England Black Wolves have named Brett Manney team captain while Stephan Leblanc and John LaFontaine will serve as assistant captains for the National Lacrosse League team.

Manney has served as assistant captain for the previous three seasons. Leblanc and LaFontaine, both of whom joined the franchise last season, are first-time assistant captains.

"Brett, John and Steph will provide balanced and professional leadership to our group," Black Wolves head coach Glenn Clark said. "All three prepare and play the game the right way and are excellent examples for our young players to learn from. As a coaching staff, you want players that conduct themselves as professionals and understand the importance of a team first approach. We have that in these three players and are excited to get started."

The Black Wolves open the 2018-19 season in Georgia on December 15. Their home opener at Mohegan Sun is December 28 at against the Saskatchewan Rush at 7:30 p.m.
