Ledyard, others to participate in utility social media study

The towns of Ledyard and South Windsor and a Hartford-based council of governments will participate in a pilot project with social media to enhance two utilities' communication with the public.
Connecticut Light & Power and Yankee Gas will provide the three entities with consulting services over the next year, valued at $8,000, through Atlas Advertising of Denver, Colo. At the end of the project, they'll be asked to share lessons learned.
"The winners demonstrated a good plan for how they will use social media to enhance or better coordinate their efforts," said Douglas G. Fisher of CL&P and Yankee Gas.
