Regan hires news executive

Regan Communications Group of Boston said William J. (B.J.) Finnell of Old Lyme, a veteran broadcast news executive, will join the company as vice president of news operations.

In his role, Finnell, 52, will work with other senior executives to expand and enhance the company's range of public relations services to its clients.

Finnell comes to Regan from WLNE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Providence, R.I., where he has served as news director for the past 2 years.

Finnell also has served as vice president and news director at WJAR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Providence, and at WVIT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Hartford.
