CPBN plans digital media learning lab
Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network has announced that it will open a $3.5 million Learning Lab in Hartford to help children and adults develop career skills in digital media.
CPBN, parent of Connecticut Public Television and Connecticut Public Radio, said the initiative is a first nationally. Located in a 20,000-square-foot space that includes classrooms and studios, the Learning Lab will serve high school students from the Journalism & Media Academy Magnet School during the day and the Veterans Vocational Training Program at night.
Adults will learn video production, computer game design and web development. Twenty-six veterans will complete certifications in December.
