MAKE A DIFFERENCE: The Arc of New London County
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
WHO: Anna is a 35-year-old woman with intellectual and developmental disabilities and diabetes.
AGENCY: The Arc New London County, 125 Sachem St., Norwich.
HER SITUATION: Recently, Anna relocated to Norwich. No longer able to support her, Anna's family dropped her off at an apartment and drove away. Anna was left alone. With no income, close to eviction and unable to take care of her health needs, Anna resorted to panhandling to earn enough money each day to eat. She finally began receiving support from The Arc this fall to help her survive on her own. Anna is very proud to live in her own apartment but is barely able to make ends meet.
WHAT TO GIVE: Anna is in need of gift cards to Stop & Shop, Walmart and Target. Anna could also use donations of winter items such as hats, gloves, scarves and socks. Finally, Anna could use donations of bath and kitchen towels, full-size sheets, pillow cases and a winter blanket for her bed.
TO DONATE: Contact Lara Chiaverini at (860) 889-4435 or at lchiaverini@thearcnlc.org.
