    Jeffrey Sargent has been appoined Chief Compliance Officer of Northstar Wealth Partners, which is headquartered in West Hartford and has an office in Old Saybrook. Most recently, Sargent served as the Chief Compliance and Administrative Officer for Westport Resources Management & Investment Services.     William D. Horne has retired as Westerly Community Credit Union’s Board of Directors Chairman.     The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT will present a workshop about "Understanding Search to Generate Leads" on Wednesday, April 4, noon-1 p.m. at the Chamber's office, 914 Hartford Turnpike, 2nd floor, Waterford.     Building Your Business Plan workshop will be held at Quinebaug Valley Community College on three Monday evenings in April from 6 to 8 p.m. The workshop was developed and will be taught by John Miller, president and CEO of National Chromium Company, Inc., and former director of human resources for Day Kimball Healthcare.     The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT will present four Regional Chamber Awards at its Annual Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, April 4, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Hilton Mystic, sponsored by Atlantic Broadband and the Connecticut Airport Authority. The honorees are Mystic Knotwork, Small Business of the Year; The Lofts at Ponemah Mills, Community Revitalization Leader of the Year; Nancy Bulkeley of Dominion Energy and Sue Murphy of Liberty Bank, Volunteers of the Year; Stephen Tagliatella of Saybrook Point Inn & Spa/Connecticut Tourism Coalition, Board of Directors Special Award.     The Chamber’s 2017 Annual Meeting is made possible with support from Atlantic Broadband and the CT Airport Authority.     SERVICES

    A new Connecticut Department of Labor American Job Center will open Monday, April 2 at 601 Norwich-New London Turnpike (Route 32) in Montville. The full-service office offers employment and unemployment services, including career counseling, re-employment workshops, résumé-writing assistance, specialized employment services for veterans and a career center with computers, internet service, phones and fax machines.

    For employers, a Business Service Specialist will be available to meet with companies or organizations to explore programs that can help benefit their business, including recruitment services, tax credit programs, training grants and apprenticeship programs. The job center will also be staffed with an Unemployment Insurance Benefits Specialist to answer questions regarding unemployment claims and assist those that need help using the online filing system.

    With the opening of this new job center, services that were provided at the former Norwich and New London offices will be consolidated into the centralized Montville location. For more information, visit www.JobCenterCT.com.

    Desiree Robb, Employee Involvement Specialist in Human Resources at Mohegan Sun, and Don Trella, Director of Employee and Guest Experience at Mohegan Sun, will serve as co-chairs of the 2018 Southeast Connecticut March for Babies in May. Robb has worked at Mohegan Sun for five years and Trella for 17 years.

    During April and May, Liberty Bank’s Giving Circle program sets aside $100 for every mortgage application received by the bank, and then divides the accumulated funds among local agencies that provide emergency or transitional housing for homeless families and individuals. As of 2017, the total donated through the 23-year-old program rose to almost $549,000.

    Giving Circle funds for 2018 will be granted to the following nonprofit organizations in the Greater New London area: Always Home (previously Mystic Area Shelter & Hospitality), Covenant Shelter of New London, New London Homeless Hospitality Center,  and Safe Futures.     EXPANSION

    Infiltrator Water Technologies of Old Saybrook, a manufacturer of products for the decentralized water and wastewater industries, has purchased Delta Environmental Products assets from Pentair Flow Technologies. Delta manufactures residential and commercial decentralized wastewater treatment system products.

    Infiltrator has acquired the technologies, approvals, trademarks and physical assets to produce the Delta Whitewater Series, ECOPOD series, and Delta Fabricated Treatment Plants from Pentair. These products will be sold under a new wholly owned subsidiary to Infiltrator named Delta Treatment Systems, LLC.
