Kelly McTurk of Niantic and June McTurk of Waterford are happy to announce the engagement of their sister, Sarah McTurk, daughter of the late Bill and Connie McTurk of Niantic, to Douglas MacLeod, son of D. Gordon MacLeod and Susan MacLeod, of Bradenton, Fla.

Sarah graduated from East Lyme High School in 1999, The University of Tampa in 2004, with a bachelor of fine arts, and most recently from Marymount University in Virginia with a master's degree in education. She teaches fifth grade at The Langley School in McLean, Va.

Douglas graduated from Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Mass. in 1999, and Georgetown University in 2003, with a degree in psychology. He teaches ninth- grade history and A.P. psychology at Flint Hill School in Oakton, Va.

The couple reside in Arlington, Va.

A July 2010 wedding on Cape Cod has been planned.
