Noank — The family of Leo and Cathie Gibson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 29.

They were married in the Chapel on the Thames at the Groton Submarine Base in 1959. They celebrated their wedding reception at the Lighthouse Inn, New London with their best man and maid of honor Buz and Mary Paulson. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls.

Leo and Cathie live in Noank, where they raised their family. The way they have loved and supported each other through life’s blessings and trials has been a powerful model for the family. Their home is a place where family and friends feel welcome and loved.

They celebrated their milestone anniversary with their three daughters and sons-in-law; grandchildren; great-grandchild; and their grandchildren’s significant others.
