Grants available for organizations that help homeless veterans

The Veterans' Employment and Training Service announced Friday that roughly $12 million in grants is available to help homeless veterans find housing and jobs.

The program, through the U.S. Department of Labor, offers the competitive grants to organizations that provide training or classes to homeless veterans, as well as job search services, placement assistance and related follow-up services. Such organizations include state and local workforce investment boards, local public agencies, tribal governments and other nonprofit, faith-based and community groups.

For more information, interested organizations should contact Ashley Hoek at hoek.ashley.a@dol.gov or visit the Department of Labor's webpage for veterans programs, www.dol.gov/vets.
