Mystic VFW to hold VE-Day service on Tuesday

Mystic — The Hugo A. Simonelli Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3263 will host a VE-Day (Victory in Europe Day) service on Tuesday, May 8, at the Post home on Route 1. The program will start at 11:30 a.m. with the guest speaker Stonington First Selectman Rob Simmons, a Vietnam War veteran.

VE-Day marks the Allies' formal acceptance of Germany's surrender in World War II on May 8, 1945.
