Thames River Detachment to meet Aug. 28

Niantic — The Thames River Detachment of the Marine Corps League will hold a planning meeting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Niantic American Legion Post, 16 York Ave.

New members will be inducted, and we will be discussing the Marine Corps Ball, planning for this year's Toys for Tots project, and the proposed trip to Washington, D.C. Dues of $35 for non-life members will be due.

If you are a Marine, FMF corpsman or FMF Navy chaplain and are interested in joining our detachment, please join us at our planning meetings or at our regular meetings at the Montville Veterans of Foreign Wars post, 91 Raymond Hill Road, on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
