    Submarine school announces graduates

    Groton — Seventeen graduates of “Class 12010,” Submarine Officer Advanced Course and 57 graduates of “Class 12030” Submarine Officer Basic Course graduated from the Naval Submarine School in joint ceremonies April 27.

    For the advanced course, Lt. Ben Anderson received the L. Y. Spear Award as class honorman. Lt. Erich Hill received the David Lloyd Award for Excellence.

    Lt. John Crumpacker received the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Award. Lt. Michael Furlan received the SOAC Outstanding Instructor Award. Anderson and Hill were also selected as Distinguished Graduates.

    Ensign Kevin Plumer received the L. Y. Spear Award as the basic course class honorman. Ensign Timothy Mendoza received the Admiral Andrew I. McKee Award.

    Ensign Andrew Kramer received the Naval Submarine League Fire Control Excellence Award. Lt. John Chester received the SOBC Outstanding Instructor Award.
