Three people with local ties graduated from military training.

Air Force Airman Samuel J. Daniels graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas. Daniels, the son of Patricia Kennedy of East Lyme and Peter Daniels of Waterford, was an honor graduate. He is a 2011 graduate of East Lyme High School.

Army National Guard Spec. Timothy H. Plungis graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Plungis, the son of Charles and Heidi Plungis of Mystic, is a 2006 graduate of Robert E. Fitch Senior High School.

Army Pvt. Emily K. McClelland graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson. McClelland, the son of David Roby of Waterford, is a 2011 graduate of Ledyard High School.
