69 sailors of 'Class 14040' graduate from Basic Enlisted Submarine School

Groton — Sixty-nine sailors of “Class 14040,” USS Sturgeon (SSN-637), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School, Friday, Dec. 13.
Seaman James Eager was the class honorman. Machinist’s Mate Third Class Steven Wallace received the Submarine Heritage Award. Seaman David Knettle received the Navy Core Values Award and Seaman Recruit Nathan Hoffman was meritoriously advanced.
Wallace, Knettle, Hoffman, Fireman Christopher Swies, Seaman Jerry Molina, Seaman Christopher Goetz, Fireman Apprentice Julio Colon, Fireman Recruit Charles Demmer, Fireman Daniel Mirel and Seaman Apprentice Jacob Wixted were graduates with distinction.
