    Entertainment roundup

Lawrence, Smith return for ‘Bad Boys’ sequel

Stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, jubilantly resuming his career resuscitation after last year’s life-altering Oscars slap, confirmed last week that they would star in a fourth installment of the “Bad Boys” action-movie franchise, calling back to the signature music as well as the nomenclature missteps they made along the way.

“IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME,” Smith said, sharing a video of him stopping by Lawrence’s place to make the joint announcement. “It’s official, ‘Bad Boys 4,’ baby.”

Leonardo DiCaprio to play cult leader

Leonardo DiCaprio will play cult leader Jim Jones in the movie adaptation of Jeff Guinn’s book “The Road to Jonestown: Jim Jones and Peoples Temple.”

DiCaprio and Guinn each served as executive producers of “Jonestown: Terror in the Jungle,” a documentary series that aired in 2018. The movie has been optioned by MGM for DiCaprio, according to Guinn’s literary agent, Jim Donovan. No one knows yet when shooting will begin or the film will be released.

    Nephew will portray Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson will be played by his nephew Jaafar Jackson in a biopic directed by “Training Day” filmmaker Antoine Fuqua.

Jermaine Jackson’s unverified Twitter account congratulated the 68-year-old performer’s son for his “first footprint in the music industry” when Jackson released his first single, “Got Me Singing,” in June 2019.
