Halestorm storms the Wolf Den stage

The Pennsylvania melodic hard rock band Halestorm turned to music only after another career disappointment.

Originally, members of the group met in meteorology school. When they were collectively dismissed for their inability to spell "Hail storm" - which is perhaps not surprising since the brother/sister duo leading the band are named Lzzy and Arejay - they decided to try rock 'n' roll.

It seems to be working out.

Halestorm signed with Atlantic Records, and their self-titled 2010 full-length debut reached #11 on the U.S. rock charts. Singles such as "I Get Off" and "Familiar Taste of Poison" are flirting with "anthem" status, and the band's reputation for energetic lives shows bodes well for folks who will attend their appearance at 8 tonight in the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den.
