If a band claims to be from New York City, a certain sonic stereotype springs to mind. Which is probably unfair since there are over 8,000,000 citizens living there and over 7,000,000 of them are in bands and over 6,000,000 of those bands insist they're from Brooklyn - which indeed DOES have a specific indie-rock identity.

In any event, Turbine is proudly from NYC - but they're not at all New Yorky, throwing down an adventurous fusion of jam dynamics and prog melodicism that results in an innately catchy, dance-happy sound. Albums like "Blue Light City" and "Moonlit Mission" are exuberant and finely crafted celebrations, and Turbine has performed to an increasing national fan base.

Introduce yourself to their charm Saturday when they visit the Strange Brew Pub in Norwich - and bets are you'll become a permanent fan.
