King Sick-a-Billy headlines 33 Golden Saturday
If Elvis and Reverend Horton Heat were fused together into one creature as the result of a backwoods meth lab explosion, the pale new creature scampering away from the blaze, hooting about vengeance, liquor and wimmen, would be the guitarist/singer/tunesmith known as King Sick-a-Billy.
With his band the Full Moon Boys, Sick-a-Billy — who also performs under the name Sasquatch — lands Friday at 33 Golden Street in New London for an assuredly raucous performance. Worth noting: King Sick-a-Billy has a song wonderfully called "Foolish Foolish Fool," which is the best title I've seen since ex-Molly Hatchett singer Danny Joe Brown released an album called "Danny Joe Brown and the Danny Joe Brown Band" — with a helpful sticker that added, "Featuring Danny Joe Brown."
Also appearing are fellow punk/rockabilly revivalists The Throttles.
King Sick-a-Billy and the Full Moon Boys, 9 p.m. Friday, 33 Golden St., New London; $5; (860) 443-1193.
