Louis Tomlinson goes in a new direction - and stops at Mohegan Sun
Yes, Louis Tomlinson is kicking off his “Faith in the Future” tour at Mohegan Sun on Friday.
But it’s not his first time at the place.
It’s no doubt that One Direction fans remember this: When Tomlinson was part of the uber-successful boy band, the group performed at the Sun in 2012.
Well, 1D is no more, but each of the former members seems to has found their place in the world. For example: Harry Styles is singing and acting and being tabloid fodder. Niall Horan has become a Blake-junior judge on “The Voice.” Zayn Malik is being a dad. Liam Payne is working on a new album and, according to Britain’s The Sun, he recently recorded a song for that with Horan and Tomlinson.
On his own, Tomlinson has produced harder-rocking music than he has before on his new album “Faith in the Future.” He has said he wanted the songs on the release to help make for excellent concerts, and chances are good that will be the case.
Louis Tomlinson, 7 p.m. Friday, Mohegan Sun Arena; with The Academic and Snarls; $29.50-$99.50; mohegansun.com.
