    Cappella Cantorum presents its Winter Concert

    Cappella Cantorum will present its festive Winter Concert 3-5 p.m. Dec. 3 at Valley Regional High School, 256 Kelsey Road, Deep River.

    It will feature the Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra, and soprano soloist Abigail Paschke. Music selections include Magnificat (composed by John Rutter) and The Many Moods of Christmas (arranged by Robert Shaw).

    The Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra will be conducted by Simon Holt, music director of Cappella Cantorum and the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, as well as the founder and artistic director of Salt Marsh Opera.

    Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door ($15 for students age 18 and under; free for children under 6 with an adult ticket purchase). Tickets can be purchased on the website, cappellacantorum.org ($2 credit card fee applies), by calling 860-532-0454, or from any chorus member.

    Also, Cappella Cantorum’s Annual Handel’s Messiah Sing or Listen will be held Dec. 17 at Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook.

    Established in 1970, Cappella Cantorum is a non-auditioned community choral group that provides singers of all ages the opportunity to learn, perform, and share great choral music.
