As we near the culmination of the Christmas season, we still have an ever-popular musical event to look forward to this weekend: the Community Carol Sing at the Mystic Seaport Museum.

How popular is it? Well, this marks its 76th year.

The sing happens at 3 p.m. Sunday, and the museum is open for free that day, although donations of non-perishable food and monetary donations will be accepted at the North and South gates to go to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.

The sing happens on the deck of the Thompson Exhibition Building and McGraw Quadrangle. Leading the event, as usual, is Jamie Spillane, who is associate professor of music and director of choral studies at the University of Connecticut. The Mystic Seaport Museum Carolers and a brass quartet will join in as well.

Those Mystic Seaport Museum Carolers will also perform earlier, at 2 p.m. in Greenmanville Church.

There is food sold on site, including a hot cocoa bar and Decorate Your Own Christmas Cookie Kit and S’more Kit at Greenman’s Landing at the museum.

Community Carol Sing, Sunday, Mystic Seaport Museum, 75 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic; museum open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; carol sing is at 3 p.m.; free; mysticseaport.org, (860) 572-0711.
