    Mountain music

    Nefesh Mountain (Contributed)

Let’s see. Rolling Stone called Nefesh Mountain a powerhouse unit, and American Song-writer wrote about their “introspective lyrics and world class musicianship.”

    High praise, indeed.

Nefesh Mountain — which is in concert Friday at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook — boasts the married duo of Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff, and while they play roots music, it’s much more than just roots music. It has elements of Americana, blue-grass, folk, jazz and blues. Lindberg and Zasloff, who are of Jewish heritage, have also brought Jewish tradition into their musical mix.

Nefesh Mountain, 8 p.m. Friday, Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main St., Old Saybrook; $36; www.thekate.org or call 860-510-0453.
