A von Trapp return in Old Lyme

    Elisabeth von Trapp (Contributed)

Elisabeth von Trapp, a descendant of the family made famous in “The Sound of Music,” comes to Old Lyme to perform in concert on Saturday.

This is a return visit to Saint Ann’s for von Trapp, who has drawn audiences before with her material that ranges from Broadway to pop to gospel. Concert-goers can meet her at a post-show reception.

Considering her lineage, it’s no surprise that she started playing music at a young age. At 8, she was taking piano lessons. At 16, she was playing guitar and playing at weddings, gospel meetings and town halls around New England with her siblings.

Elisabeth von Trapp, 7 p.m. Saturday, St. Ann’s, 82 Shore Road, Old Lyme; admission is a suggested donation of $20 per person; space is limited; doors open at 6:30; no reservations are required; saintannsoldlyme.org.
