I used to think Bruce Springsteen was indestructible, but his battle with peptic ulcer disease proved me wrong.

The man who rock-and-rolls his way through high-energy three-plus-hour concert was laid low. It was so bad he canceled part of his tour last fall – including a Sept. 16 gig at Mohegan Sun. And that September show was actually the rescheduled date for a March 12 gig, also postponed because of illness, although the exact health issue wasn’t specified at the time.

After recuperating, the 74-year-old has returned to the road and will play that long-awaited Sun show on Friday (fingers crossed!).

The tour’s set lists so far represent every era of his career, from “Born to Run” to “Glory Days” to songs from his latest album, the pretty fabulous “Letter to You.” The show should be three hours (or more) to remember.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Mohegan Sun Arena; resale tickets start at $650; mohegansun.com.
