The United to host its first summer concert series
The inaugural Beatwave Summer Concert Series at The United in Westerly will feature a wide range of styles, with headliners The Wailers, Bob Marley’s band, and Peter Wolf, formerly of the J. Geils Band.
United Artistic Director Tony Nunes said that the lineup is still growing but it currently includes multi-Grammy winning Victor Wooten and the Wooten Brothers; the Sam Grisman Project celebrating the musical legacy of Sam's legendary father David Grisman and his music with Jerry Garcia; a special July 4th throwdown with Yonder Mountain String Band; Bob Marley's Wailers performing and celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Legend album; an evening with J. Geils Band lead singer Peter Wolf; folk acts Blind Pilot, Aoife O'Donovan with Hawktail, and Sarah Jarosz; and Congolese afropop rockers Jupiter and Okwess.
