Ledyard - Mildred D. "Millie" Watson, 81, of Safety Harbor, formerly of Gales Ferry, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2009, after a brief illness.

She was born in Norwich on Oct. 17, 1927. In her youth, she worked for a phone company. She married Ernest "Paul" Watson on April 19, 1952, and they had 57 years together. After having her children, Millie worked for the United States Post Office, then became a market researcher until she retired in her 70s. Millie was blessed with a sharp wit and a great sense of adventure and a wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest "Paul" Watson, and her children and their spouses, Paul and Pam Watson, Brian and Helen Watson, Phyllis and Ric Lunato and Mark Watson; six granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Sunday, June 28, at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater (727) 562-2070.
