Carolyn T. Neumann, 93, of Branford died in Branford Aug. 17. She was the wife of the late August Neumann. Born in Branford on Feb. 19, 1916 to the late John and Josephine Bart Zurkus, she was a lifelong resident of Branford and parishioner of St. Mary Church. She retired in 1978 as a seamstress, having worked for Dora Miles Co. and Sero Shirt Co.

She was the mother of David Neumann of West Dover, Vermont, and the late Kathleen Polverari; grandmother of Edward Polverari of Texas; mother-in-law of Edward Polverari of Texas; sister-in-law of Eleanor Zurkus of Branford; and dear friend of Mary Lou and Clayton Caine of Maine. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers John and Joseph Zurkus and sisters Adeline Melillo, Sue Dykun, and Jane Gorski.

A funeral procession left from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home on Aug. 20 for a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary Church. Burial followed in St. Agnes Cemetery.
