Todd Lincoln Truman, 43 Irving, Texas, formerly of Clinton

Todd Lincoln Truman, 43, of Irving, Texas, died Nov. 10 at Odyssey House Hospice in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the loving husband of Serena Truman and dad to Matthew Dechatech. He was born in Middletown on

Nov. 5, 1966, son of Carolyn Eden Berlepsch of Clinton and Ivan Joseph Truman, Jr., of Franklin, Kentucky.

    He graduated from The

    Morgan School in Clinton and

attended Computer Technical Institute for his initial computer training. He served three years in the U.S. Army as a Signals Intelligence Analyst in Hawaii and two years in the U.S. Army

Reserve. He also worked in the IT Department of the Bridgeport Schools for seven years.

Until his illness in August, he was a vice president at Mentis Group, a managed service company, located in Dallas. He was a believer in technology and its ability to empower people and change lives. While in Fort Worth, he ran a small computer repair business with no-nonsense, hourly pricing, half that of his competitors, and during this time he donated several computers to churches in the area. He also offered to repair computers at no cost to those who could not afford to pay. His talents at a computer show or vendor conference for educators could draw a packed audience to his booth, as he would network together several PCs for a rousing game of Doom. Traffic at his booth was often higher than some of the largest vendors'. He will be greatly missed by all.

Besides his wife, son, and parents, he is survived by his brothers Thomas Lyle Truman and his wife Dagmar of Waldershof, Germany, and Toby Lorin Truman and his wife Tammy of Hendersonville, Tennessee; his step-father William Berlepsch; four uncles, John Truman of St. Paul, Minnesota, Robert Truman of Orlando, Florida, Donald Eden of Killingworth, and James Eden of Standish, Maine; and two aunts, Margaret Eden and Catherine Prather, both of Ellsworth, Maine. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Timothy Lee Truman, his grandfather Ivan Joseph Truman, Sr., and his grandmothers Lois Hawkins Truman and Edith Huff Eden.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 12 at The United Methodist Church, 12 Commerce St., Clinton. Burial will be in Indian River Cemetery, Clinton, at convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
