Donald E. Breitenstein, 70, of 301 Plymouth Colony, Branford, died in New Haven on March 18. He was the husband of the late Roberta Hemming Breitenstein. He was born in New Haven on May 18, 1939, son of the late Reginald H. Breitenstein and Shirley Breitenstein Simmons. He had worked as a car salesman for Ford of Branford for many years until his retirement.

He is survived by two children, Maria Bodner and her husband Joseph of Branford and Kenneth Breitenstein and his wife Maria of Albertson, New York. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Parker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and five grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on March 23 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford. Burial was in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
