    Timothy Douglas Barry, 39, Madison

    Timothy Douglas Barry, 39, died suddenly in Madison on Oct. 5. Oct. 9 would have been Tim’s 40th birthday.  During his life he was a vineyard manager at several large wineries in Connecticut, and he was a talented stone mason.  Tim always had a great passion for all kinds of music.  He graduated from Daniel Hand High School, attended Lyndon State College in Vermont, and Southern Connecticut State University.  He had lived in Colorado, Arizona, and in Connecticut for the last 15 years.

    Timothy had two nephews, Austin and Garet Brown, who were his biggest fans and best friends and who will no doubt miss him and the huge part that he played in their lives.  The trio was involved in sports, quad riding, playing the drums. and building Legos.

    Throughout his life, Tim was an avid skier in both alpine and telemark, traveling to Colorado, Utah, and throughout New England.  Recently, he had been skiing with his sidekicks Austin and Garet in the Colorado Rockies.

    Tim will be deeply missed by his family and by everyone whom his life touched.

    Besides his two nephews, he is survived by his father, William David Barry of Montezuma, Colorado; his mother, Carol A. Hartley and her husband Robert of Madison; his sister, Michelle Barry and her husband Adam Cost of Guilford; and his brother, William J. Barry of East Hampton, New York.  He is also survived by his grandfather, William J Barry, Jr. of Turners Falls, Massachusetts, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    A celebration of his life was held at East Wharf Beach in Madison on Oct. 9. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or americanheart.org. The Guilford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
